MEMORANDUM: Francis P. Ivory’s Passing and Funeral Arrangements

MEMORANDUM

TO: MCS Friends and Supporters
FROM: Daniel A. Rodriguez
RE: Francis P. Ivory’s Passing and Funeral Arrangements
DATE: July 30, 2018

For those who have not heard yet, I regret to inform you that Fran Ivory, MCS Executive Director (1997 – 2011), passed away peacefully Friday Morning, July 27, 2018, with his beloved wife, Rosemary (Roie) at his side. For several years, he lived courageously with his Parkinson’s diagnosis. In fact, he made it to this year’s Saint Patrick’s Day parade, but soon thereafter he stopped working at the Xcel and began using a walker in June. He celebrated his 70th birthday with family and friends last month.

In addition to working 14 years at Merrick Community Services, he also worked at Friendly House (Davenport, IA) and Neighborhood House (Saint Paul). For many years, Fran and the Ivory Family managed a strawberry & shortcake stand at the State Fair, and up until earlier this year Fran also worked at the Xcel Energy Center.

Fran will be remembered for his gentle spirit and firm commitment to serving those in need. Last year, Merrick Community Services dedicated its Meals on Wheels Room to Roie and Fran Ivory, as an acknowledgement of his many years of service and dedication to serving Seniors in our Community.
